Accountability Crisis
We are facing a crisis of accountability in Ohio politics. We keep throwing money at the same problems—education, infrastructure, public safety—and expecting different results. I am running for Senate to end the cycle of blank checks. My platform is simple: if a program isn't working, we fix it or we cut it. We cannot afford to keep subsidizing broken systems. It’s time to respect the taxpayer, demand a return on our investment, and stop funding failure.
My Plan
1. AUDIT THE BOOKS
No private business can operate without clear financial records, and neither should our government. I will sponsor legislation requiring every federal agency to pass a full, independent audit. If an agency cannot account for where its money is going, its budget will be frozen until they can. We need transparency in Ohio politics, particularly in how every tax dollar is spent.
2. AUTOMATIC EXPIRATION FOR NEW PROGRAMS Government programs should not live forever just because they started. I propose that all new spending bills include a "Sunset Clause"—an automatic expiration date after 5 years. If the program cannot prove it has achieved its specific goals by that date, it ends. No more auto-renewing failure.
3. FUNDING FOLLOWS SUCCESS
We need to stop rewarding failure with budget increases. Whether it is education, infrastructure, or social programs, funding should be tied to clear, measurable outcomes. This principle also applies to support for Ohio; if a system is failing our citizens, we shouldn't pour more money into it; we should change the leadership and the strategy.
